About Me
Alyxaundrea “Ally” Munson (she/they) is an actor and singer based in California’s Central Valley. She graduated from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Valencia, CA, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in May, 2019.
Ally began her training as a dancer in Modesto, CA, eventually becoming a member of Central West Ballet, where she played corps de ballet and soloist roles. She is a classically trained soprano, and has played such roles as Laurie in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! at the Gallo Center for the Arts. In 2015, she won a National YoungArts Award for accomplishments in spoken and musical theater.
Ally trained in acting, voice, speech, and movement in the acting program at CalArts. From Shakespeare to devised performance, she has played a variety of roles during her education at CalArts including Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Carabosse in the devised performance of Witch House: A Witches’ Cabaret, Elizabeth in the premiere of Princess Diana in Auschwitz, Beth in A Lie of the Mind, as a dancer in Julie Bour’s dance-theater performance Solidus, and as writer and director of Excerpts of the Women I Know: A Collection of Silent Monologues.
Most recently, Ally played Catherine in Proof directed by Anna Rose Thao at Prospect Theater Project in Modesto, CA, where she also teaches youth and adult classes in movement, voice, and speech.
